Sonya's journey began in rural East Texas, where she was raised by her grandparents and instilled with values she applies every day. Her sincere and persistent nature has helped her navigate challenges and emerge stronger. Throughout her career, Sonya consistently went above and beyond to support the departments she worked with, enabling them to exceed their goals and industry standards. Her experience in oil and gas, plastics manufacturing, and staffing has honed her strategic and operational thinking. Collaborating with senior staff, lawyers, engineers, and technicians has given Sonya a comprehensive understanding of internal and external processes and the ability to effectively manage complex situations. As a passionate advocate for children and families, Sonya is dedicated to improving young lives. She proudly supports various nonprofit fundraising initiatives and believes in making a difference one child at a time. Committed to lifelong learning, Sonya holds a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management and a graduate certificate in Leadership and Strategic Planning from the University of Houston-Downtown. She is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in human resources from the Marilyn Davies College of Business and is also an alumna and supporter of Tyler Junior College. Sonya's love for art draws her to museums and cultural sites to explore the world's rich diversity.
